Things to do in Ha Giang

Ha Giang sits at the far northern tip of Vietnam, well beyond Sapa, and forms the province's signature loop around the Dong Van Karst Plateau, a UNESCO Global Geopark, and the Ma Pi Leng Pass.

The road is the point, but it is not one you drive yourself: the surface is narrow, steep and given to hairpins, and almost everyone covers it on the back of a motorbike, either self-ridden with a licence for Vietnam or, more commonly, as a passenger with a local driver in what is sold locally as an easy rider trip.
